Gate the welcome discount behind a goal picker
The entry popup asks "What's your main goal?" before revealing the offer, so every new visitor self-segments on their first page view.

What it is
Instead of asking for an email cold, the welcome popup leads with the offer (36% off plus free gifts) and one question: what is your main goal? Four large buttons answer it (more energy and focus, better sleep and recovery, workout performance, general wellness or not sure yet), with a plain "No thanks" link underneath.
Why it works
One tap is a smaller ask than an email address, so more visitors engage, and the answer is worth more than the address on its own: the brand learns intent on the first page view and can route the shopper to the right product, landing page or email flow. The "not sure yet" option keeps the undecided in the funnel rather than forcing a false answer.
How to test it
- Hypothesis
- Replacing a plain email-for-discount popup with a goal picker that reveals the same offer will lift popup engagement and downstream conversion, because answering one question is easier than giving an email and lets the site personalise what follows.
- Primary metric
- Popup completion rate (goal selected or email submitted)
- Guardrail metric
- Bounce rate on popup-exposed sessions, to confirm the extra step does not push visitors away
